Has anyone ever taken the institute of advanced drivers test. Was just reading my insurance renewal document and you can get 30% of your premium if you are a member of this org . If you have taken the test how hard was it ?

The pass rate is very high for people who do the course along with the test. Your insurance company will probably pay for both.

I did it, AFAIK Hibernian are the only one who give a discount for it though.

Did it years ago, (IAM). Most insurers give discounts, you need to call them to arrange it. The Advanced Defensive Driving course is not easy to pass. The standard one is much easier, and IIRC, the discounts are the same for both anyway.

(I did the ADD course, it was brilliant)

Why would an insurance company pay for you to sit it  If thats the case surely everyone should apply for it & let their insurance company pay for it??

Well Hibernian pays for it. http://www.hibernian.ie/direct/HibernianDirectWeb/ignition.jsp

Presumably your reduced accident risk outweighs the discount they give you on average.
