Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I recently moved to da country "Port Laoise" and now take the train to work.

To ease the boredom ive been watching the second series of Prison Break on the way on my SE K8001

Apart from my eyes turing funny its not that bad.

Anyone else actually make use of the extra features that come with modern fones?

    Joe

It's too much effort converting them to play on my phone. I did it once before but that was an rm file and had to be converted before it would play. Must try an avi and see if that works without having to be converted.

Using my Windows Mobile 5 phone, I can play AVI, DivX, YouTube......and so on.

I do watch the odd video on the train.

what you need is a program called Super, as well as letting you set the audio and video qualityot has specific output setting for each make of phone.

    Beingin free doesn't hurt either

I have that joe, it's just a pain having to convert something before I watch it instead of just copying something a few minutes before I go out the door.

sure am, been using it for a while now: boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1034846 ;)

in more 'modern times' there are tools that enable the creation of video from various sources e.g. your video media, online streaming, etc. some can take a while, but many allow batch processing and running them as you go to bed or head out is usually a good idea (in a watched kettle never boils kinda way ;))

not up for discussing video conversion from copyrighted sources here though...

google lists a lot of apps and tutorials, as well as a many of the handset vendor specific forum / activist sites. some handset vendors even provide tools to convert your video files to work on handsets or link to apps that provide these facilities in their online App shops/directories. e.g.

    Nokia Video Manager:

Sony Ericsson App Shop (Video Conversion App)

Watch video sometimes on the k800, downloaded some music videos off youtube too and it's nice to have them on the phone too.

use super for some conversions, but theres a program called m3 (should find it here somewhere) that I find better (video quality-wise), also good for compressing music to compatible aac

would agree with whats been said above about having to convert being a pain, have a axim and it's much easier to just copy the files or stream them over wifi
