Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hey guys, bit of a problem here hope you can help.

i recently left my old job and got the tech guy at work to put all my emails onto a cd, went to open the .pst file in outlook today, went to file, open, found the .pst file which i had copied to my desktop but when i try to open it it says "the file is not compatible with this version of the personal folders information service". Whats this all about? Im using microsoft outlook 2000!??

    Any help much much appreciated.

when i try and do what it says in the second step, i have no thing saying "data file management"??? :S

    1. Start Outlook.
    2. On the File menu, click Data File Management, and then click Add.
    3. Click Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (PST).
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click OK to accept the default name, and then click OK again.

Outlook 2003 now creates a new .pst file that is based on the earlier .pst file and maintains the ANSI formatting for that .pst file.
    6. Click Close.
    7. At the bottom of the navigation pane, click Folder List.

In the navigation pane, you now see the new .pst file.
    8. Drag the information from your existing Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 folders to the new .pst file. You may also use the Import and Export Wizard on the File menu to move the information from your existing Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 folders to the new .pst file.
    9. In the navigation pane, right-click the new .pst file, and then click Close "file_name".

Those instructions require that you have access to a copy of Outlook 2003 or 2007. If you don't, then you're out of luck.

if you know someone with outlook 2003 or later you can use their machine to open it. Don't export as it will create the pst in the new format. Instead use data file management to create an office 97-2002 pst. you can then move or copy email folders to it. Don't forget that the old pst format can only hold 2GB so you may need more that one.
