    I have a jsp tag as follows

    <cd:inputRow fieldValue="${contact.lastName}" />

    which should evaluate to the getLastName method of the contact object - all this is fine

    but instead it comes back as the string "${contact.lastName}" instead of the value

    I have set <rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue> in the taglib file
    any other ideas?

    Using jsptaglib version 1.2 (I can't use 2.0) and servlet 2.3

    please note even if I pass in <cd:inputRow fieldValue="<c: out value='${contact.lastName}' />" />
    it comes back as the string "<c: out value='${contact.lastName}/>" rather than the value
    I can use c: out as in the jsp and it works fine

    <taglib>
    <tlib-version>1.0</tlib-version>
    <jsp-version>1.2</jsp-version>
    <short-name>cd</short-name>
