Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

recovering data from a corrupt installation

    I've got a disk here with fedora 3 on it that would no longer boot, however I do have a small mysql database on it that I'd really like to get back. I tried popping in the fedora 5 cd's and running an upgrade. It gets to a login but with a whole load of errors so I cant really do anything with it.

    If I build a brand new hard drive with fedora, is there any way I can get my data back off the old hard drive? Cheers

    Get a live cd (fedora have one, as do ubuntu, knoppix, etc) and boot from the CD. This should mount the hard drive for you and allow you to copy across whatever it is you need, providing it's not damaged.

    just did that with a fedora cd.. am in the process of exporting the mysql now. Google is my friend :)
