Getting out of work contract

    Hi, I've already posted this in the Work & Jobs forum, just wanted any legal opinions that may be out there. In brief, my girlfriend started a new job just under 7 weeks ago at company A. She was contacted yesterday by another firm, company B, with a vastly superior offer, which she will be accepting. The problem is, her contract with A states that she has to give 3 months notice. However, it also states that she has a 6-month probationary period. My question is, does the probationary period, or the short period of time she has worked there, mean that she can just give 1 month's notice?
    Any advice appreciated.

    Legal advice cannot be given on this forum. The notice period should be clear in her contract, probation period or otherwise.
