hd camcorder or ps3

have decided to buy me a camcorder, and am looking at the hard drive models available on the market. however should i go the extra mile and get me a hi def sony or should i just get a standard jvc hard drive camcorder and use the rest of the cash for a ps3. its a nice dilemma but a dilemma none the less. any thoughts?
