    ugly

only joking but make sure its a double syllable name as most training commands are single syllable like fetch, sit, stay, heel.

You want the dog to understand when its name is being called

See what the dog looks like and practice with calling him a few names.

When we got Jericho we went through all that. My daughter wanted to call him 'Duck' because he was a Staff (Staffie Duck!!).

But I wanted a strong name, first was Zeus, then Sherman but looking through a map of my favourite country in the world I settled on Jericho.

    Bonzo.

That's what I call my dog (well, bitch to be precise) because her real name ('Sasha' - the girlfriend named her) is a bit too girly for my liking.

PS Whats wrong with giving animals human names? I have cats called Phoebe, Timmy and Paddy, a budgie called Jasper and two finches named John and Mary!!! Also Frankie and Jimmy the fish!!!

My neighbours have a female called 'Amber' which I think is really sweet and suits her. She's so adorable she waits to see my son every day on his way to and from school and her little tail starts as soon as she sees him. :D
