Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sunderland started well, all things considered. Few of their new signings look really up for it.

Yup, I'd agree with that. Sunderland have been effective.

no United just havnt been at all. its so unorganised all over the place. too many players given a free role and running where they want. Tevez dropping way too deep too.

Irish Abroad for Saturday, 1st of September: http://www.chatsoccer.net/irishabroad/dateDetails.xquery?seasonID=137&date=2007-09-01
Kevin Kilbane sent off. Cliff Byrne sent off. Derek Geary sent off.
    What a day

I've added a new statistics section, it's not finished yet, but you can see the work in progress here: http://www.chatsoccer.net/irishabroad/august.xquery
All that's there at the moment is the stats for august, I'll either add a section for each month or keep an updated overall tracking

Poor standard of play so far though.

    2-0 Fabregas

Woohoo. Has Cesc scored more this season than he did last year yet?

I think they said he only got 1 league goal last season or something crazy like that.

My god Senderos is such a retard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

    Senderos off

Jesus that free was begging to be just chipped over the wall, Almunia was nearly at the other post. Acres of the goal just to chip into.

    3-0

then straightaway 3-1 , best goal ever from Kanu. Course he meant it.:-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Ha, blink and you miss two goals. Rosicky makes it 3-0 and Kanu brings it back to 3-1.

Rosicky scores when nobody's looking then Portsmouth score from the kick off with the flukiest finish you'll ever see. 3-1, all very odd.

I'm really losing patience with Senderos now. Wenger's decision to send Djourou on loan is looking really suspect; going into the season with 3 recognised CBs and we've already lost two of them. Fingers crossed Gallas can make a speedy recovery over the international break so we won't have Gilberto in defence for the NLD.

Fabregas was ****ing awesome today though, as was Toure. Rosicky had his best game thus far this season too.

I don't know, Senderos does seem to possess the ability to be a good centre-back. It seems that he lacks confidence and concentration though.

Anyone else's coverage of the Chelsea game a bit choppy? It's like watching Dream Team on my tv.

That was my line of thought when he first came into the team a few years ago, but he hasn't improved or ironed out the kinks in his game since then. I'm beginning to think he never will.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,167 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Senderos is slow, clumbsy and not good enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Shaun-Wright Phillips is on fire for Chelsea today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Great tempo to the game so far, but Chelsea starting to boss it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Drogba not having the greatest of games so far. Belletti looks very solid at right back.

    Is the match over?

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

    No, but Villa lead 2-0.

Looks like mid-table battlers Arsenal will be joint top of the league tonight.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Drogba seems a bit crook (for real).

Villa Park is Maureens bogey ground is'nt it?

woot. that was great. loved the way they went on and scored a second instead of time wasting. Now Liverpool and Arsenal start losing too.

Could be a season like last years La liga

Super Super Villa :D We bet Chelsea and we bet them by playing better football and defending well, great day. Ashley Young is starting to show why Martin O'Neill payed so much for him himself and Gabby out wide have the pace and belief to trouble any defence, also ReoCoker looked very good, I like Petrov and wanted to give him a chance but Barry and ReoCoker in the middle look the best option.

Great result if we can stay injury free we might just be able to challenge for Europe although I still think the squad is too small tbh.

    Up the Villa

cant believe mourinho took off SWP,he was the only attacking force.Especially since malouda was dire. Great defending by laursen holding drogba at bay though.

SWP reportedly left with an ice pack on his leg though.
