    anyone know why limewire is acting up? alternatives?

    acting up how? Limewire for me hasnt been great for a long time. sometimes the search feature doesnt work at all. and often the download speeds are terrible. Could be to do with your ISP too.

    Afaik, the best alternative would be to uninstall that smelly turd of a program off your pc.

    bit torrents are the new thing dudey limewires bein getin old for a long time... happens with all those p2p programs... good at first then they slowly detierate... aparently ;)
