I'm looking for some tips on potential bands to listen too. Currently I am into the likes of Tool, a perfect circle, blue october, ffaf, in flames. I like something with melody and i guess a touch of emo to it :)..

    Cheers.

    Get some Faith No More.

Don't listen to anything emo, so can't help you in that reguard.

Have you try using Last.FM? On the front page you can enter a band name and it will come back with a list of similar bands. For example, searching for "In Flames" yielded Children of Bodom and Arch Enemy. Both of which I can vouch for as being brilliant bands.

Coheed and Cambria seem to fit the bill perfectly, they're fairly emo and fairly progressive so seem to be what your looking for

    Hmm, melodic, Sonata Arctica?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Have you tried Porcupine Tree? Their new album is superb as is their back catalogue.

Heres the title track of their new album "Fear Of A Blank Planet".

Probably unlikely that you're not a fan already, but Alice in Chains could be along the lines of what you're looking for.

Ah yea, I know he said melody but The Haunted are melodic and Type O can be sometimes. Said I'd try my arm with the black/death, was bored :p These smilies are useless

If your going to try Alice in Chains go for Dirt first, its kind of depressing but still very good.

One band I seriously recommend, especially if you want something with a lot of melody, is Evergrey:

Get the album "Recreation Day" which is easily their best, in my opinion.

Here you go mate. Got plenty of bands to recommend you that, while some being pretty heavy, have all leaned toward the "emo" end of the spectrum at one time or another.

    The Fall Of Troy
    Chiodos
    Thrice
    Glassjaw
    Alexisonfire
    The Receiving End Of Sirens
    Finch
The Bled (def not emo, but I know scene kids love 'em)
Fear Before The March Of Flames
    The Sleeping
A Wilhelm Scream (again, not emo. rather posthardcore. but still)
    From First To Last
    The Future
    Saosin
    The Sound Of Animals Fighting
    Heavy Heavy Low Low
    Senses Fail

Off the top of my head that's all I got right now...enjoy :)
