Industry sources report that government and their varied supporting quango's are becoming a little concerned about the continuing status as a mere minnow on the global and EU broadband scales.

This concern is creating an unethical urge to 'wrap' 3G and aspects of wireless broadband into the mix that is the internationally displayed, national broadband scorecard.

Last time they tried this (under Dermot Ahern's tenure) the EU commission smacked the government on the wrists.

Careful now lads! We want to fix the endenmic issue, not make us more of a laughing stock than we already are.

Some solice might be sought in the EU Commissions Implementation reports which split out the figures. Please resist the urge!

The Czechs have a fixed 3g product that they got a special pre dispensation from the OECD for to report as BB, its 256k with external antenna.

Of course the self same Czechs now threaten to overhaul our asses and this would have been noticed.

We already report Ripwave as BB, surely thats enough of a joke Tom ???
