The UCD College Tribune will be featuring a new article in its Music and Entertainment section for the upcoming 2007/2008 year.Entitled 'UCD band of the Fortnight', it will attempt to showcase the musical endeavours of bands and artists that attend the university.

The only requisite for the band/artist is to contain at least one member who currently attends UCD for the academic year of 2007/2008, have recorded at least one demo of music, and have a functional myspace link/website which showcases the material.

All genres and types of music, from Jazz, Dance, Electro, Pop, Punk, Metal, Folk and everything in between and beyond will be considered.

Each fortnight a band or artist will be selected, and will have their own feature in the music section of the Tribune, complete with a mini interview and synopsis of the group's development and current situation.

PLEASE NOTE: Only serious artists and groups will be considered. If you havn't got a proper quality sound recording, or are starting out and still working on improving your material, please do not waste your time. Spend it improving and enter later on in the year instead. Spammers will not be tolerated, and proof of UCD attendeeship will be required.

Other than that, all UCD students are welcome to submit their projects.

Please email your relative information, along with phone contact information, biography, pics and band info, along with that essential myspace or website link to hear your music at, to tribunebands@gmail.com

Or alternatively drop into the UCD College Tribune Office at LG18 in the Arts Block with your demo, and leave it for Lorcan.

    Thanks, and good luck.

Or you could send your Demos to Belfield FM, get them played on air and come along for an interview.

    Just an idea

    Lorcan Archer yeah? Sound chap.

Will more than likely do both when we eventually finish our demo. It's a damn good idea methinks, after picking up the Ten Past Seven album today it's another confirmation that there's Irish bands out there way away from the mainstream that deserve to be heard.

    Bump for anyone else interested!

Yep, Lorcan here alright. Cheers for the compliment yevveh, whoever you are! I surely don't deserve it. :)

We're hoping to provide the feature on a regular basis, and linking it up with Belfield FM's efforts to play more quality music made by UCD students can only be a good idea alright Graham me ould son...

    Final bump.

This is still open for entrants, and will be for the entire year.
