I've an NAS server sitting at home and I've my drives mapped locally on my laptop. However once I'm out and about I don't have access to these drives. I can FTP into my server OK but it would be great if I was able to map my drives over the internet. Is there any good secure way of doing this? I've looked at SSH and PPTP but I am none the wiser!

I use openvpn http://openvpn.net/ to create a secured vpn connection. You do however require a public IP address.

Webdrive allows you to map a web server root folder or ftp root folder so it looks like any other mapped drive:
    mapdesktop.gif

Does that require a server between the router and NAS server?

That looks interesting, I'll give that a look. Thanks!
