Ok folks, vote for your favourite atheist intellectual... I suggest this poll is open to theists as well as atheists. Afterall, you can respect some and find them interesting and thought provoking even if you don't agree with them!

I voted for Dawkins purely because he wrote The Selfish Gene. Douglas Adams would come next, and although I haven't read much of his stuff, Russell deserves a mention too.

i'd be a fan of dawkins for the science and hitchens for the rhetorical bombast.

i know there are some around here who nurse a bit of a crush on hitchens, and others who find him insufferable. both groups might be interested in this article (nothing to do with religion) complete with video, though perhaps for differing reasons. apologies if already posted.
