    Hi,

I intended to buy a TomTom one (V2 or V3) but read now a few times that the bluetooth connection cannot be used for Hands Free speaking. some other websites claim that it does work. I am confused. Can someone who has the unit confirm this?

An alternative would be the Tomtom Go 910. Anyone have any experiences with this Unit? And big differences between the two? Any other suggestions welcome.

    Regards,
    DSAB

We have the tom tom 910 and would highly recommend it. We also have the garmin street pilot and found tom tom much better. Tried out both in France. The Garmin took us off route a few times whereas tom tom was dead on. For the phone it copies your phone book from your bluetooth phone and it is so easy to use. It reads out your text messsages for you when they come in. We leave the phone in our pocket as we drive as the no of the caller or name if it is in your phone book comes up on the screen so you dont need to look at your phone at all. Its a great system. :D

No version of the TomTom ONE to date has Bluetooth hands free functionality.

The Bluetooth it does have is used for a data connection for the TomTom traffic feature, which AFAIK doesn't cover Ireland.

The 910 is a completely different beast altogether. It has a load of functionality the ONE doesn't have (hands free, text to speech, etc), US as well as Western European Maps, and a 20GB hadrdrive. The hard-drive makes it thicker than the ONE.

Personally, I got the 720. Most of the functionality of the 910 (but no Hard disk or US maps installed) - plus a few extra ones - in a smaller form factor, but with a slightly bigger screen. A bit more expensive, but it is the top of the range at the moment.
