They're mailing out the fresher packs next wednesday, I hear.

Heard wrong...turns out they mighn't mail them at all - there's been delays with getting the stuff in for putting into the packs..

I took the day off work to do some society goodness and pack the welcome packs but now I've to find something else to do..grrr

I'm a student in the college & I didn't hear about no incident last year..mind you, i spent most of my two weeks picking myself up off the floor in <insert-any-pub-except-the-SU-here> :)

You drink in the SU for a few hours and then you go to the Venue (right next to it) and watch a band play. Last year it was Republic of Loose (can't believe I payed to see them...again)

Is it difficult for people who commute from dublin to go to all these nights out and stuff? Because i wouldn't be able to afford a taxi home but the last train will probably be around elevenish or so... How do others cope?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

Make friends with boggers and kip in theirs.

Yeah commuting sucks for that reason, but like Rozabeez said; make friends with someone who has a house and crash there.

Yeah that was a bit of a pain in the ass for me alright. As someone said, just make friends with some people that are from the country and living in Maynooth. It ain't that hard to do, just go up and talk to loads of people on your first day. Doesnt matter if it's **** talk, they'll be just as glad that you came up to them.
As for getting home, when I was in first year the SU used to run buses back to Dublin (Liffey Valley and Blanch), dont know if this is still the situation. Taxis are ridiculously expensive at about €35, but there is always the option of the two-legged discount! ;)

There's also a bed in the Rozabeez household for good looking men that are too drunk to talk.

(¬_¬ for eh, my mother of course)
