Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Timeshift Demo

Has anyone downloaded this from the Marketplace yet? I knew nothing about this game until I saw the demo up, and before wasting time downloading 500 megs of potential crappage I downloaded the trailer to see what it was about. Seemed like it could be fun so I've just downloaded the demo and had a great time romping through it.

Yes, the time manipulation is extremely gimmicky, yes the setting looks like a knock off of City 17 complete with Dr Breen-like video messages, and yes the level design seems very basic, but man it was just pure fun!

The environments were nicely destructable, and there were some great moments with the time trickery - stopping time, running up to a guy, grabbing his gun and blowing his head off, or my particular favourite - when an enemy was on a higher level than me, spotted me, shouted "You don't stand a chance" and jumped down towards me. I slowed time as he was in mid shout and jump, and turned his body into a red cloud with three shotty blasts while he was still in the air. There were also some interesting examples of how the time manipulation can be implemented to solve various environmental puzzles.

Much more impressive than the likes of, say, Stranglehold, and a game I'll definitely be keeping an eye on!

I remember playing a demo of this about 1-2 years ago on the pc and found it to be fun but not great. Obviously they put more effort into since then so will be interesting to try it again.

They completely changed it. Nothing like the old PC demo.
