What second hand 1.9 (or so) Diesel car to buy?

    Ive more or less settled on the idea of getting a 1.9 Diesel.
    They seem to be very fuel efficient.

    I have a budget for a car with approx 100K on the clock circa 2003
    I really need to get a good one.

    So the big Q - what car?

    Anyone any advice?

    my volvo s40, 1.9 td is great car in my opinion, good on fuel, good to drive and has power when needed
