I think Israel have it in them to get something against England. They are draw specialists and have managed to draw away to France, Russia and um... us in the last few years.

McClaren is a clown, why he got that job I'll never know. Only worry would be that the young guys who may start will really be out to prove themselves.

Get yourself down to the bookies buddy. Paddy Power are offering 10/1 on Israel nicking the win, decent odds all things considered, and 7/2 for the draw. Worth a punt if you're a betting man. Personally I think England will win but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. They seriously underestimated Israel in the last match.

Anybody think it's quite odd that the England Football match is on at the same time as the England Rugby match? Bit of a p1sser if you're an English fan.

One step ahead of you. Israel are 13.5 to win with Betfair but I don't think they can do it. A draw would be a great result for them so I've laid England. Another good bet would be under 2.5 goals in the game. England may have trouble up front but their defence is solid. Benayoun (spel?) has said that they have no problem playing it tight in order to get a draw. But enough of such talk. Off to the gambling forum with me!!!!

Heskey to win Owen two "knock-down" goals and score himself. That would really piss a lot of people off!

More likely is a fraught draw with at least 1 red card.

    Ireland to win shocker.

    England v Israel

    Robinson
    Richards-Terry-Ferdinand-A Cole
    W/Phillips-Gerrard-Barry-J Cole
    Heskey-Owen

Thats a very decent starting 11 for my money.

For all those thinking the Slovakia result was horrible, have a look at Spain. 10 minutes to go and they're down 1-0 to Iceland.

EDIT: Spain equalised in the 86th :(

Watched the England game and it goes to show that thay England are horrible to watch. Fans strolling out 10 mins before the game ended too was sad to see.

    Also well done to Scotland.

    :confused::confused:

It's been happening in grounds up and down England for the past fifteen years.

Did you watch the FA Cup Final in May? After half time damn near the whole upper tier of the stand opposite the cameras was empty for a good fifteen minutes. Corporate eejits.

Shame on anyone who leaves a game early to 'beat the traffic' or 'get pints in.

They aren't football fans, they are consumers.

Although I stay to the end at games I go to, this really takes the biscuit. If people want to pay their money and leave early, that is up to them. No amount of moral indignation and hang wringing from the 'proper' fans will change it.

With all the sport on yesterday I didn't see all of the Scotland game. Was the Lithuanian penalty as dodgy as I heard? Know somebody who had a treble on 3-0 to England, Scotland and Germany and was tempted to do the same myself.

Yeah it really was a disgrace, the referee was staring it right down as well. Absolutely open and shut case of diving.

Just remembered the Czechs were the ones who won 3-0, not Germany so wouldn't have mattered either way.

    .

AFAIK they have a load of bars in that middle tier so at half time it empties into the bars. They come back out again for the 2nd half.

I agree actually, it was the most cohesive performance i've seen from them in ages. Barry and gerrard looked good together in midfield, barry played some fantastic through balls cutting straight through israel and got 2 assists, and did loads of covering allowing stevie to burst through and roam around. The wingers did their jobs very well, lovely cross from Cole for SWP very nice finish. Owen looks to be returning swiftly, very well taken goal and beat the keeper well for another that was saved off the line. Missed plenty of chances, but thats bad since he's getting them. The question, as always, is can he stay injury free.

And this deserves an extra paragraph. Micah Richards. Christ, that boy is unreal! I never realised he's THAT fast! Seems really hard to get the ball off when he's on a run too, hes like a freight train barging through or something. very nicely taken goal too. He looks like he could play comfortably in any position on the park. I have to say, after last night, as solid and consistant as Neville is i think Richards should be first choice.
