    Hi,

I am about to buy my second pair of running shoes as I begin to ramp up my training on the road and i was wondering what the difference between the different Ascics shoes. I note that there are two main ones Nimbus and Kayano, whats the difference?

    Hey there,

The Kayano and Nimbus are two very different shoes. Kayano is built for a pronated runner so someone who has poor biomechanics and requires medial support. It's a slightly more rigid firmer shoe than the nimbus. The Nimbus on the other hand is a soft flexible shoe designed for someone who is pretty neutral or slighlty supinated.

    Hope this helps.

    Damian.

they did, but they have closed down I believe.

On the kayano/nimbus I don't think they are as different as Damien makes out. Although the kayano are more stable they are still ok for neutral runners imo. I do most of my running in one or the other and have worn the last 6 or 7versions of each one.

However Damien is the expert here..

    Hi Damien,

Thinking of heading up there on Sunday. Do I need to make an appointment? Should I wear my current runners for doing the Gait analysis?

    Hey,

Sorry I'm a little late getting back to you. If you could bring your old runners it would be a great help because we could have a look at the wear pattern on them.

I bought a pair of kayano's recently for doing the marathon. I normally wear orthotics but haven't put them in these trainers yet as just got a new pair made. I've noticed that for the first few miles that I wear them the outer side of my right foot is sore but it gradually goes away.

Does anyone know why this would happen? I'm just abit concerned as its never happened with any other trainers I've worn.

If you're coming from Dublin, take the second exit to Bray off the M11. Then take the first exit at the roundabout, and the business centre is a short distance up the road on your left. It's hard to miss.
