Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Windscreen Broken
    Hi,

I live in a council complex in the City center,
My car was parked in the area and my windscreen got broken, The car was in view of 3 cameras that have been up about 6 months now.
I was hoping the cameras could let me know who done this so I could send them the bill, But today I was informed by the council and security company in charge of the cameras that they were not in operation and never have been, I am now stuck with a bill and very p****d off.
Since I pay to park in the area and for the cameras to operate, IN YOUR OPINION do I hold any sort of case against the council/security company for their negligence towards there tenants and property.

Thanks for reading. All OPINIONS welcome.

    Dan

    No.

Should councils, shopkeepers, banks, restaurants, private individuals be held responsible for / punished / decided against for unsolved petty crimes, just because they own and operate cameras in an effort to prevent crime?

    (Sorry about your car btw)

Extracting evidence of this nature would usually be undertaken on foot of a criminal investigation. Was a criminal path followed? ...assuming not. Many of the cameras used in the city and in various cities are used for real time monitoring and not recorded, or if they are are kept for low durations.

Have you any idea what broke the window?

    Absolutly no case.
No car is safe in the city centre, especially in a council flat complex
