I have read this book and found it pretty good as a starting point:
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Concepts, Technology, and Design (The Prentice Hall Service-Oriented Computing Series from Thomas Erl)

    Also:
Understanding SOA with Web Services is more manageable size although it is probably due for a new edition.

IBM have a good series on their Developerworks site
    http://www-306.ibm.com/software/solutions/soa/index.html?S_TACT=107AG01W&S_CMP=campaign

Ronan Bradley who used to be CEO of Polarlake and now lectures in DIT has a good Blog on Ebizq with some interesting views
    http://www.ebizq.net/blogs/soaroads/

As far as SOA technologies go take a look at Mule. This is where SOA Enterprise Service Bus is going.
