Secondly, I have insurance which covers Uk and ireland for a year (due to lots of travel) and i decided to settle in Ireland when I found what I was looking for (long story) now i would like to change…

Hi,
Pls could someone advise me? What happens if you've lost your ferry ticket? Can you get a copy from the ferry company?
Secondly, I have insurance which covers Uk and ireland for a year (due to lots of travel) and i decided to settle in Ireland when I found what I was looking for (long story) now i would like to change my plates but from your comments on this site, I might be found liable to penalties for not registering when i first entered.
Pls advice on what to do?

how did you book you ferry ticket? just ring them up and ask for your confirmation number

As regards registering the car, just go to your nearest vrt office...if they ask just tell them its been of the road. Sorted
