Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, I'm hoping that someone could perhaps give me some advice.
I'm a first year UCD student studying law. I've barely been in the college a week and already I'm regretting my decision of picking law, I really couldn't see myself doing it long-term.
I was wondering if it'd be possible to switch to an entirely different course, ie general science (i meet the entry requirements)
Does anyone know if this can be done and if so how to go about it?
    Thanks in advance.

Yeah you can do that... I don't think you have to pay fees if it's before a certain date that you decide to change.

I'd ring up the programme office tomorrow and ask them the procedure.

I think a few people on this forum did it, so they'll give you more info...

    Thanks for the reply Dave.
I know i have the option of dropping out now (and not paying fees) and then reapplying next year.
But do you (or anyone else) know if it's possible to transfer directly into science? Like... within the next few weeks or so?

Oh well then! -- the OP had better just finish the Law degree in spite of not enjoying it, shouldn't they?

As far as I know if you have the points requirements, which you obviously do, can move between courses up to a certain date, within reason and if there are spaces available. You shouldn't have any trouble getting into science I wouldn't think.

Yeah it shouldn't be too hard. The course you're doing sometimes aren't too helpful about the moving but call into the careers and guidance office, they're very helpful about these things.
