OK lads,

This is the first game of our third season.

Kick off is at 21:00 but I am insisting we meet at eight.

Numbers for the weekend meet up are rubbish, so if people can make the effort to be at the first game a bit early, that would be nice.

Just a note about the ground from Astro.ie

Parking can be tight at Newpark School, it is recommended to be a few minutes early and park in the Guardian Angels Church car park (Free) which is across the road from the school.

The pitch and sport centre are to the back of the school, look for signs.

As I already said, I'm expecting everyone to be at matches, unless they let me know otherwise.

I won't be chasing people this season.

If someone doesn't turn up to a game, and didn't let me know, they won't be playing in the next match.

we should have 14 or 15 so by the looks of things.....lets give this one big shot and see how we get on, cant wait for this. though its been a heavy week in slovakia/prague and theres still an ireland final to go to..:eek: seems to be a few company teams in our section, so these will be good. a friend of mine used to be the trinity biotech manger, will do some sussing out with him about them..

kicked off the season with a 2-1 defeat. it was a game of 2 halves, we were all asleep in the first half and played poor stuff, going 2 down to a good side. however, we made a few switches, both in personel and positional and it made an immediate impact as we totally dominated the rest of the game. we got onw back with a clas header from gavin but couldn get the equaliser. thought we deserved a draw from this. still, a better improvement on last years start and we should not start as bad next week. 3 or 4 very strange decisions from the new ref.

Very poor performance all round I thought. Ed put it kindly when he used the word dominated in referring to the second half. We never used the ball well and most of our pressure came from long balls. We looked unfit and completely lacking in sharpness. Everyone gave 100% but we were all over the place. The goals were just ****e. We have to go man on man at the back. I think all of us are still playing in there as if it was proper 11 a side with offside. Most disappointing of all was the lack of communication on the pitch. there was no one talking.

Also, Des, who's captain when Jules isn't on the pitch? Jules always talks and when he went off there was silence. Training is a must at this stage. There was a lack of understanding there at times particularly between the back 5 that needs to be looked at

Whens training again, Saturday or Sunday at 2pm?

We haven't played together since last season, so the first half was always going to be dicey. I think the hard work everyone was putting in saved us from completely letting our heads drop in the first half.

It was very quiet alright.
