Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

I was just wondering if anyone knew where in town or Liffey Valley I can get a few pairs of contact lenses as a trial without having to get a contact lens test. I've gotten my eyes tested and I have contacts from specsavers but I find that sometimes my eyes can dry out a tad when wearing them. A friend has recently started to use Acuvue lenses and found them very comfortable, apprently they are a more breathable membrane than the ones I have.
I was hoping to get maybe 3 pairs and try them out before buying a full box.

    Dave

I dunno anything about trial lenses but you always have to try the lenses out for a week or so before you buy them and you don't have to pay for them.

i use acuvue in one eye and find them to be grand, i also use Aquify drops from Specsavers to keep my eye moist as mine can be quite dry. id have a chat to you optician and see what they say!

I dont think anywhere will give them to you unless you've done a test, I've tried it before!!

Actually if you've already done a test with them then you should be ok! It has to have been in the last year year or something like that though!!

Why don't you go back to your Specsavers optician. They do most lenses, not just their own branded ones. Also, when you do have a prescription you should check out online websites cos they can provide lenses cheaper (eg www.getlenses.ie).

You might not be suited for Acuvue lenses. Someone perscritions don't allow for the use of daily lenses. Best go to the opticians.

People with astigmatism used not be able to use them but there are versions of most types of lenses that'll suit that now.

You're going to have to go to an optician anyway OP, no way to get lenses without a prescription.

if you have had an contact lens check up in the last year and have your written prescriction with you the optician him/herself should be able to help you without a test.
