On the 29th of September 2007, there will be a free event in the
Stables at the University of Limerick, as part of the Campaign to Save
    the Hill of Tara.

Galway, Cork, Derry, Dublin and Achill will also host gigs on the same night.

    Limerick's star-studded line-up includes a host of fantastic musicians
and singers including Eoin Coughlan, Niall Keegan & Sandra Joyce,
Mickey Dunne, and Noirin Ni Riain with Eoin & Micheal O Suilleabhain.

The fantastic local poet Ciaran O'Driscoll will feature with wife
Margaret Farley, alongside numerous other poets and speakers who will
give artistic and historical insights into the Tara issue.

All are welcome to come along and show support for the cause. The
event will kick off around 7pm and promises to be a great night of
    music, song and poetry.

For any additional information, please email lizzydoe@gmail.com

    Thankyou!!

i wish i had the motivation to organise a free "who cares about a mound of dirt with nothing to preserve and it will still be there after the road is built either way" gig but i dont as it really does not matter

good luck with it either way

Everyone does realise the new motorway is further away from the Hill of Tara than the current Dublin Road, right?

If anything, you could have this to save my back garden please :(

Hi all - interesting, if unfounded comments!
The Tara area is packed full of ancient archaeological features - some older than the pyramids in Egypt. Ring forts, wood henges, royal graves...
Need I go on? Probably not, it would clearly be wasted effort.
    Cheers, Lizzy.

This isn't really the place to discuss the justifiability of the Tara issue itself (as opposed to the event in a college bar on a Saturday night). There are a number of better places to do that (politics, green issues, the meath board).

Who really cares where to road is - God knows what other stuff is buried around there - Fair enough they ain't going over the hill or tara but they could still destroy something part of ancient ireland!

Anyways, This concert is gonna be good - I have worked with Eoin & Michael O Suilleabhain & have engineered several concerts where Noirin Ni Riain has performed - she has to be one of the funniest and nicest people you could ever meet!

    Come along - It'll be a laugh!!!

    Alan

Cheers Alan - and yes they already have destroyed several ancient national monuments..one in the middle of the night! Talk about guilty conscience.
Look forward to see you at the gig.
