Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry if the answer is yes :(

Met a few lads at the airport today who were mad enough to go to the Slovakia & Czech matches, apart from obviously being disgusted with the crap they had to sit through, what I found even more disturbing was that a lot of fans found themselves in trouble with the local 'crews'.

In Bratislava a fair few lads got the shít kicked out of them after the match by national front Slovaks.A lot of the major nightclubs advised Irish lads to leave for their own safety for the same reason.

Then last night there were various Czech flags on show with union jacks  I hate this shíte.

Really pi55es me off to see Irish lads get this sort of treatment for no fcuking reason and of course we are only to happy to smile and nod when these lads come to our patch.

yep, i was there and had a fantastic time(BAR THE RESULTS!!), group of 6 of And i saw absolutley no trouble what so ever and ever heard anything about trouble.

Bratislava - spent 3 days there. arriving driving in, place looked like a kip. very poor looking and run down. once we aproached the city center, things started to look better and in general, the inner city is very nice. however, i would not go to bratislava again unless for a match.

there was about 6 pubs where the Irish fans gathered, reports had it about 7000 there, so you can imagine how good the atmosphere was around the town center all day. both of the main squares were well packed with irish and there was plenty of noise in the run up to the game...

onto the stadium, what a disgrace of a place,an absolute joke of a ground, the biggest kip i have ever been in. plenty of riot police and was searched going in, but no hassle. sat with some slovaks and it was a very relaxed atmoshere in there. i wont talk about the match, thats for other threads.

afterwards, while people were disappointed, the atmoshere was generally good most of the pubs were busy. we moved onto a nightclub and it was about 70% full, and of that crowd, there was about 50 irish lads in there. the generally consense was that the women in there, was amongest the most fantastic that we had seen anywhere. top class birds, but no personalities!! got back to the hotel at 7.30 am.

sunday again, was more of the same, all day on the p*ss and then crowds gathered to watch the rugby. about 300 gathered in 1 place, cant remember the name, and they ran out of drink in there. plenty of sing songs which the locals were not used to and at about 12, the cops started to close the pubs.. by 1.30, most places were shut.

so, we left bratislave the following morning, the general view was that the place was a kip, with a lovely city center. the women were top class, but all the local were very rude and lacked personalitys.

so onto prague......away nicer city, more expensive, and alot less gatherings of irish as they were all spread out. basically just hit the pubs for 3 days until the match. the locals were alot nicer and didnt see a cop until the match. stadium was nice and there was a savage atmosphere at the ground.didnt go to bed last night, (still aint slept) flew back today. wrecked.

so overall, as i said, had a fantastic time, except for the results. i saw no trouble what so ever and my view was that if you kept to yourself and didnt do the B*llix, then you were left alone.....have a shed load of videos from the 6 days, which i will put up on youtube and link here once i get the time.

Bratislava was a let down tbh. I think the cheapest pint in Bratislava was the Dubliner because it was the only place that kept it's prices down. It didn't take us too long to realise that every taxi driver just sends you to a brothel. Our last night there, Sunday, there were 2 locals waiting at a quiet corner. Only for the fact there was 4 of us they would have went for us no doubt. I pity anyone that went by them alone.

The first night in Bratislava we went to some club. I went to the toilet. The lights were turned off and I was surrounded by young lads. God knows how they were allowed into the club but they just laughed and let me walk by. I thought I'd have to get the bubble gum out.

Another time we had to give a taxi driver extra money or a fight was going to kick off. I heard a story of a lad waking up on the back seat of a taxi covered in blood with nobody else at all in the car. Other lads were arrested for playing football in the square. Only for the beautiful women I'd have very little good to say about the place. The best place for a laugh was the Karaoke bar but that was about the same size as my bathroom and the place was packed by the last night. The toilet was seperate from it and it was pitch dark.

Maybe we just went to the wrong places (was there a pub in the centre without loads of Irish in it?) but we were happy to get out of Bratislava. The train to Prague was 6 hours long because it had to stop for ages. Prague was much better. We were staying 20m away from Rocky O'Reillys but the apartments were a lot nicer than the hotel in Bratislava. The staff in pubs were a lot friendlier. People didn't stare at you for walking down a street. The pubs were actually cheaper than Bratislava. €1 a pint when you take a little walk away from the main street.

For the match we were in with the Czech fans. We got the Metro there and the Czech fans led us to the stadium. The were a nice crowd. Not a sign of trouble.

We found a great lap dancing club too. Free entry and €1.50 a drink. We ended up there 2 nights in a row. One absolute stunner got talking to us. She ended up asking my friend for his phone number. I don't know how much use that will be now but she told him she was going to Dublin soon.

Thursday we stayed out all night and got the 7.30 train back to Bratislava. Spent the next 14 hours getting back to Dublin. I'd go back to Prague but Bratislava was full of grumpy gits. I don't think I'd be able for another double header either. I'm still recovering. In fact, I'd have enjoyed Prague much, much more if I hadn't been to Bratislava beforehand.

I was in Prague, not the actual match though watched it in an Irish bar. Didnt encounter any hostility, few people even mentioned the match and any that did was good natured (a few Czechs showed up in the bar on the balcony, jerseys, flags and all, but it was all good natured)

I was surprised on the first day at how few Czech jerseys there were until I saw the cost of them. The real jerseys cost 75 euro plus, you can buy them for probably 50 odd here  Id be relectant to pay 75 for an Ireland jersey, nevfer mind if I was on a Czech wage.

Which strip club did you head to Eirebhoy? We went every night to a few (Atlas Cabaret and Hot Peppers being two names I recall) but I blew god knows how much in them on the Tuesday after having been on the piss from 10am in Dublin airport :D

Anyone know if Prague is good for actually going on the pull? Some of the crew suffered money/tiredness by Friday and so we didnt actually hit a nightclub.

One thing though- for a country apparently so rich in beer making history they need some variety. Pilsner Urquell is drinkable but after sinking maybe 60 pints of it between Tuesday and Sunday it really starts to grate. Some places sell Budvar but the vast majority sell only PU. Hate the way they pour the pints with a massive head and all.

All in all id deffo go back. Ryanair are starting cheap as **** flights, you could probably have 3 day weekend in Prague spending as much as two nights out in Dublin.

EDIT- While we were there we were handed a flyer by mates of an Irish lad who had went missing, saheven headed lad, think his name was Graham or something? the police were involved in the search too so presumably he hadnt ended up in hospital. Saw no mention on RTE, presume he was found?

God knows how many. The only name I remember was the big one, Darlings. 150 women and "about 30" bedrooms.

    You blew what?! ;)

My Dad was at the Russia vs. Ireland game in Moscow a few years back. He said it was one of the dodgiest places to go to for a football match. Skinheads holding LVF banners and attacking Irish bars. People are idiots, what can you do?

I remember hearing those stories too....hence me wanting to highlight it this time. Hopefully the Celts are ok in Donetsk tonight :)
