I'm thinking of buying LE40M87BD from topvisionshop.de or komplett, but need to know if tuner can receive RTE analogue on VHF.

Downloaded the manual and the UK spec sheet and seems likely, but it's difficult to be sure. I notice the new Sony LCDs explicitly say

    Channel Coverage UHF E21-E69
    Channel Coverage VHF E2-E12

but nothing so obvious in Samsung.

I would say it's very likely that it does. Most TV's now just use one hyperband tuner across the range, handier than using different tuners for different areas.

I've looked at the Samsung manual, and in the little images, some channels saved were C4 and S3 etc, indicating that the tuner is hyperband (VHF and UHF).
