Group sport in area for 5 year old

    Does anyone know of a football,hurling, gaa or something siliar group that will take children from age 5? I am trying to build up my sons socialising skills but nowhere takes them until they are 6. If anyone knows of any group sport at all in the Bray Greystones Kilcoole Delgany area that will take kids from 5 I would love to hear about it.

    Hello Foxy,

    There is a hurling nursery/academy running in Eire Og every Friday from 6.30 to 7.30pm. They provide the required gear, helmets, hurls, etc. Its a good setup and well supervised.

    I think there is a GAA football one on Wednesdays at 6pm in the same club.

    I too am having difficulty in finding something local for my 5 year old to be invloved in.
    If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

    Anything such as karate, boxing, football, scouts,

    Even a local get together with boys of similar age would be fantastic.

    Can anyone help??

    My little girl (nearly 5) does music on a sat morning in Delgany (soon to move to Greystones) with girls and boys of that age group.

    I know it is not quite the same as the sports suggested, but if you are interested PM me and I will get you details. Both the boys and the girls seem to love it. It is very good for building up socialising skills.

    the local baseball team Greystones Mariners run some sort of introductory thing for 5-7 year olds

    The baseball club runs a weekly session for 5 to 7 year olds from March to June, over at the Charlesland Sport & Recreation Centre. www.greystonesbaseball.org

    Jackie skellys....I know I've read all the bad reports but they do swimming classes for kids of 5 years of age. Swimming is a great thing to teach your kid to be comfortable in the water. I wish when I was younger I was thought to swim properly as a kid. A lot of us learn to stay afloat in the water but not many learn how to swim properly.
