Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi I hope someone can help,

    Short version -

Can the UK government implement measures against us here in Ireland to recover an alleged sum of overpaid taxes ?(for example attachment of earnings etc) I am an irish citizen my husband in british but lives and pays taxes here.

    Long Version -

I am an Irish Citizen and have just moved back to Ireland from the UK, My husband is British and also now lives and pays taxes here in Ireland.

We have had an on going dispute with the Tax offices in the Uk with regards to overpayments of Tax credits (I'm sure lots of you have heard about this major F**K up on the part of the Tax credit offices in UK)

Basically they claim that we owe them a lot of money (in the region of 7K over 4 years) but we are disputing the fact due to a catalogue of errors on their part.

The latest of which was when we phoned them to tell them we were leaving the country and to give them our address in Ireland they decided that we had seperated and have proceeded to sent us both demands for money to two different address in both countries. We have told them we are still together and living in ireland but they are ignoring this fact !

It would just help me stress a lot less if I knew they can't actually do anything to us while we are living abroad, it would give me the courage to grab them by the balls and show them what a bunch of incompetent idiots they are !!

I'm even wondering if I could get my local MP here on side because they are using bullying tactics to try to recover money that they have incorrectly paid us without our knowledge.
