OK guys, prepare to cry like a baby:

Has anyone else seen that new Blue M5 around Dublin? Well, my Dad saw it a few days ago, on the back of tow truck, ripped to pieces.

The whole back of it was ripped out of place and there was severe damage to the front and sides, basically, the car was fúcked. The thing was probably nicked! Could you imagine waking up to find your M5 gone, after what must have been months of waiting for it to arrive, and being told that all it's good for is parts.

    Heart-breaking. :(

Apparently its not written off - its in the process of being repaired and put back to use most of the damage is cosmetic and it was a low speed impact with some soft ground.

I've seen a good few of them around incl a amg one or two. Are they in anyway special? Or what makes them special? (really interested in mercs normally)

They're a completely new model, not like the C/E/S etc. Class which are just replacements for older cars, also when it looks that "interesting" it's bound to be noticed and people will remember it. Personally I really like them, but I know others who hate the look, so at least it's memorable

Oh ye, that M5 - it flipped over a bank and into a lake......I know the owner well..;)

considering the 'base' model starts at €84K & the AMG model is €147K before any 'extras' - i'd class that as special, wether I like them or not :)

big money for a runabout, as the latest one I've bumped into was in Superquinn being loaded by the mother with shopping and kids

Saw a sliver Porsche Carerra GT be driven through the centre of Dundalk at 5am Saturday - got the impression it was part of a magazine article/photo shoot as it was travelling along with a Merc estate with lots of gear in shiny boxes in the boot. Sadly this was the last thing I'd expect to see in Dundalk so no camera with me.

(But I did have my camera in England yesterday and I'll have some juicy Lamborghini pictures to post later :-)

Today in Inchicore I saw a 1999 Ford Focus. It was silver with a black stripe down the sides. There was a Magic Tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror ( Forest fresh I think)
