An Alfa 75 that we pulled out of a hedge over a year go finally lives again....and sounds great too. It didnt really take a lot to get her going although there was some initial protest the first time out. Being an Alfa there's rust in a lot of places and corrosion on lots of electrical connections so the starter refused point blank to turn her over.....Thats what tow ropes are for :D

Parting message to all the delusional Alfisti on here, they might have great character , they might drive fantastic and they sure as hell sound superb.......but they're still some pile of sh1&e :D:D:D. I can say from experience.:P

    Seriously?
    It's a Bugatti Veyron

Probably the most impressive car ever build.
It's a full on luxury car, spec'd with things like, half inch wide knobs that cost €3k a pop. Leather seats, ect...
So it's really heavy, yet it's one of the fastest cars in the world. for a good long time it was THE fastest car in the world. Only beaten by stripped out super cars, not nearly as impressive.

    Top speed is about 253.8mph.

    ABOUT 253.8? That's a very precise guess :p

It's been a while since I've been able to add any really nice cars to this thread! Just back from Marbella where you don't need to look too hard to see some serious machinery.

steve06 has probably posted all of these before, and in much higher quality too

    A few more

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭Victor_M

    Last few

In the last one Piers Morgan and Gary Linekers brother couldn't have stood out more if they tried, cruising around the port in a RR drophead convertible with a camera crew hanging off the back of the Rolls, whilst pretending to be unaware of the attention they were attracting.

The McLaren F1 was THE fastest car in the world for a long time (12years is long), they Veyron only had that claim for a short while.

    This is interesting:
The title of "world's fastest production road car" is constantly in contention, especially because the term "production car" is not well-defined.

The McLaren F1 has a top speed of 231 mph (372 km/h),[30] restricted by the rev limiter at 7500 rpm. The true top speed of the McLaren F1 was reached in April of 1998 by the five-year-old XP5 prototype. Andy Wallace (racer) piloted it down the 9 km straight at Volkswagen’s Ehra test track in Wolfsburg, Germany, setting a new world record of 240.1 mph (386.4 km/h) at 7800 rpm.[7] As Mario Andretti noted in a comparison test, the F1 is fully capable of pulling a seventh gear, thus with a higher gear ratio or a seventh gear the McLaren F1 would probably be able to reach an even greater top speed -- something which can also be observed by noticing that the top speed was reached at 7800 rpm while the peak power is reached at 7400 RPM.
Makes you wonder if they bothered to fit a 7speed gearbox would they re-claim the title?

It was Linekers brother, dunno what the story with the camera on the back was, no doubt it's some celeb based show.
