Somebody that has a bit too much money. It's on danish reg, so the owner has paid approx 200% VRT for it. 1 car for the price of 3 :)

Ya, the car taxes in Denmark are crazy. Just found this on a Danish guy's blog

"# Car registration tax of 180% of the car and the VAT (the first 45.000 kr. (6,000 €) are taxed "only" at 90%, and there are deductions for some safety equipment). Note that this includes a "tax tax" because the registration tax is also calculated on the VAT.
    # Annual road tax.
    # Tax on car insurance.
    # Fuel tax.
    # Energy taxes.
    # Green taxes.
    # Driving licence tax. "

We have it bad with VRT but that is ridiculous

180% was the old tax rules. Norway is still on 180%. Denmark has a floating VRT now depending on fuel-consumption/co2 emissions and I believe weight. So VRT is now up on between 150 to 200+ %. Average is 200% anyhow. That comes on top of 25% VAT.

Dunno where he came up with driving license tax. That's a myth.

Yep and a '05 Koenigsegg will cost you 13 mio DKK once VRT is paid, which is 1.7 mio EUR approx. See: http://bilmagasinet.dk/article/30894
That is the only Koenigsegg sold in Denmark and it's never been imported. It's parked in Sweden instead :)

But this is getting off topic, so we better return, what's on the streets :)

Lotus Elise in Beacon Motors, Sandyford on Saturday.

    3829277841_a6d9e47aea.jpg

    Apparently sold for under €9k

I was looking at the BMW in the back left, but the idiot salesman wasn't moving on price in the slightest - "confident" he could get his asking price.

It's still for sale for €8,950 and with it's history it would want to be a lot cheaper than that for it to sell. Previously damaged and previous owner had it sitting up for over 8 months priced at 6k!
