Here's what I saw today (Please read the rules before posting)

Just over a year ago, we brought you the story of Lamborghini's gift of a Gallardo LP560-4 to the Italian State Police, equipped in full police regalia, for patrol duty on the highways and byways of central and southern Italy. Today, we bring you news of its demise.

The car struck a row of parked cars while being piloted through the streets of Cremona. Officially, the story is that the officer driving the Lamborghini swerved to avoid another car in the roadway that had cut it off.
Two policemen were in the car, and though the passenger got out with only bruises, the driver suffered crushed vertebra and a broken rib. Both are expected to recover fully.

The Gallardo, however, is not so lucky. Though it might be repairable, it will never be the car it once was: A GPS-logging, radar-gun-wielding, live-digital-video-broadcasting, gun-equipped terror of all things fast.

Italy's police have logged over 87,000 miles of duty with Gallardo patrol cars since 2004.

I honestly think you're the only erson in the WORLD that would think that! The E92 M3 is far nicer than the E46 but still nowhere in the leauge of an R8. The two cars can't be compared if you ask me

No, they had 2 Gallardo's. Both were replaced last year with LP560's - this is one of the original Gallardo's and it's only used for show these days. It was leaving an event of some sort.

Wasn't that a CSL?

Even so, the two cannot be compared, one is a supercar (one of which I aint a huge fan of) and the other is a high powered BMW coupe (which I am quite a fan of) but even still, to compare it to the R8 is just ridiculous.

EDIT: the R8 has a time of 8.04, the E46 has 8.22 or something, but the E 90 is 8.05. When the V10 has a time, I reckon it'll be quite a bit ahead of any M3

Cant base comparisons on just time...

A lotus Exige and a jaguar XFR have a time difference of .3 of a second... One is an executive saloon and one is basically a track car made road legal.

An R8 and an M3 are totally different cars and i believe the M3 they tested was the 4dr model.They just cant be compared

Power wise the V8 R8 and M3 are very similar, I've no doubt the V10 is quicker but if you Youtube E92 M3 Vs R8 you'll see many videos of the two cars sticking together.

The R8 is a far more special car but the M3 is probably a far easier car to live with.

If you think the M3 looks like another 3 series you should tell that to the people that stop me and ask about mine, comment about it in car parks, at traffic lights, stop and stare at it, I think anyone with any interest in cars at all would know it's something a bit special.

Spotted this last week in Aberdeen, plenty of R8's, E92 M3's, new S4's and Bentley's ect.. but this was probably the most unusual and most unlikely to be seen over here. Think it is the first one on here also
