I only commented that the car looked familiar and I get jumped on. Perhaps some of you read into it too much but I can't see how it caused offence.

He said that he saw a similar car in the paper recently and was only asking if it was that the same one. It's not as if he said "The car was seen in Limerick so it must belong to some scumbag criminal". You're the one that's out of line, kceire.

The red Lamborghini Murcielago is for sale at Onyx cars (are they the new name for sport & classic?) :
    http://cars.rte.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=Car&carID=201001196463423&message=You%20searched%20for%3A%20Lamborghini.%20Your%20search%20returned%20one%20vehicle%2C%20which%20is%20shown%20below.&CFID=8314841&CFTOKEN=80131785

Comparing this to UK prices and taking into account the cost of VRT, this seems like a reasonable asking price to me considering its only done 6k. I dont like the colour though.

As far as I know, Trevor Musgrave (former Des Cullen sales manager) is in charge of Onyx. I read that when Des Cullen Cars closed shop he took most of the inventory with him.

I wonder how many of those there are in Ireland? That's the only one I know of anyway.

Speaking of Onyx, I regularly see a white, fully modified Range Rover Sport around Rathfarnham. It has a full bodykit, huge black wheels and 'ONYX' lettering on the front and rear where 'RANGE ROVER' usually is. It's not something I would do myself but it is very striking looking, especially in traffic amongst normal cars.

Awful colour for the Lambo, both inside and out. Nice to see it's a manual though!!

Sport and Classic people seem to be doing "other projects" now.

Richford Motors surviving it all though so dunno why S&C couldn't.

That white RR you see in Rathfarnham is powered by.... diesel would you believe! Know the owner, it's a nice job.

how do you know its not a commercial ??

granted its way OTT for a commercial but nothing surprises me these days with what ppl will do !!

lads that Onyx stuff is tat, the kinda ****e you'd expect a spotty teenager to put on a Corsa.

It makes the Overfinch look tasteful.

    an idea of prices:

Carbon fibre A and B pillar trims €1599
    Those wheels are €2599
    Onyx mats €325
    +50bhp remap €999
    Onyx badges €299
    Rear Spoiler €1099
Those bumpers are €1000 each (you'd think they could afford to colour code the parking sensors for that)

These are all plus VAT and fitting/delivery by the way.

So for the extras on that jeep you're talking €28k

Because I had a look around it when I saw it.

It's horrible... very 'pimp my ride'

Got my regs mixed up actually, not the one I know but know one very like it - commercial and tows horses but doesn't look like it on the outside.

  • Registered Users Posts: 167 ✭✭EI321

Have to say I dont like that onxy tack either, it just screams 'rich chav'. They claim that they design the build the stuff themselves but its obviously just a bodykit & rims thats bought in from someone else. Also I notice that all their adds have contain the line 'truely one of a kind' even if its just a bog standard DB9, R8, Bentley GT etc
