Yes that is Hotel de Paris in Monaco and i'm not living there... i couldn't live there - it's horibble place to live, nice to stay for 5-6 days but not living there.

P.S. I'm living in Dublin at the moment.

I am glad you like my photos :)

I've never been but I hear the Hotel De Paris is just unbelievable. It's somewhere I'd love to go to.

Would actually love to see the F1 race there.

Why do you stay it's a horrible place to live? It's pretty much impossible to get permanent residency there anyway.

I've been to Rally School Ireland and Rally Connection a few times but I just successfully completed my National B Rally Licence Course in RSI today and took the Porsche 911 Carrera S for a spin - the most amazing car I've ever driven!

It's not hard to find some permanent residency there... if you have 1.000.000 euro you can buy some small apartment, if you have over 4.000.000 euro to spend for home you will find nice and big apartment with see view or if you want see and race track view... i know because i was looking for one of them :)

or for only 200.000 euro some garage :P

why i think it's horrible place to live:
    1. to many supercars - it's nice to see Ferrari or Lamborghini but not every day... after 3 weeks you will be sick of them, i love cars and it won't be nice if every supercar will be boring for me
    2. traffics everytime, everywhere
    3. noone speak english (in 5* hotel staff don't know english - my english is not perfect but it's much better than "any" person in monte carlo)
    4. very expensive (expect carrefour supermarket)
    5. if you want to work there you will be unhappy everyday you working, when you will see perfect weather outside and tourists or rich guys on the beach
    6. it's noisy there (specially around "monaco ville")
    7. people living there will be rude to you if you're not french (example: public parking under casino was nearly full... italian man try to get in there to park his car - man said he can't get in because parking is full, behind him was car with french reg and he get in the carpark with no problems)

But if you are rich you can buy huge apartment in quiet area with sea view and going there for few weeks during the year, spend good time, spend a lots of money and go back home :) and of course there in no tax (that's why richest are living there)

To don't make OT i add huge combo:

    41248579.jpg

Peraves Monotracer, Koenigsegg CCX, Bugati Veyron Sang Noir, Noble M600, Gemballa SLR 722S, Xenatec Maybach 57SC, Audi R8 Spider, Maserati GranCabrio, Gillet Vertigo, Melkus RS2000, Rolls-Royce Phanton, Gemballa Avalanche, Gemballa GTP700 on one photo :)

I wish it's the biggest combo on boards :D

And another video of the Porsche and the Escorts

  • Registered Users Posts: 565 ✭✭✭Speedway

Cheers Speedway, I've a half-day pass lined up for RSI....dying to book now after your pics/vid :)
How did you find the Rally License Course??

It was great, 3 runs (8 laps each) in the escorts and I paid an extra 100 euro and took a spin in the Porsche.

I had been there a few times before and I have also done the course in Rally Connection in Waterford so I was pretty up to speed with the Escorts and the technique already.
I would say definitely do a few days in schools before doing the licence day just so you're not starting from scratch.

Feel free to drop me a PM rather than us chatting about it on this thread.

The Zagato is a great spot. Did it not have a front number plate or was it out of sight in the shot?

i can't see them as well, when i saw one of Zagato it has small plate on that big grid :)

But some of supercars has no front plates, it is legal in some country's (france i think) and illegal in other (switzerland)... i remember during gumball3000 (don't remember what year) lads had to put provisionally front plates on border (france/switzerland) - it's look funny when one of the most expensive cars on the world had front plates made from paper and pen :)

Tommorow i will put my best photos from last holidays as i promised :)

Yeah; it's funny, DBSs if not quite 2 a penny aren't especially noteworthy in London - the Zagato grill really caught my eye.

No front number plate - it''s odd now that I think about it. I'd assume it's a UK based car - often MX5s had a sticker type numberplate because a normal one wouldn't fit, but this didn't.

    Porsche 550 Spider:
    97800137.jpg

Just wondering if this is a genuine one or a replica. The side inlet below the door doesn't look too original, the windscreen is a bit big and it's German but doesn't have a historical "H" number, which can be useful for bigger cities. There are only about 40 of the original 550's left.

    Mercedes SLS:

SLS pic is my favourite, it looks like its waiting there to beat some Diablo up. Nice sinister shot. Great pics Marcinek.
