    Heyhow,

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6400 and it's a great little machine, even if I say so myself. BUT when I plug in some USB storage devises, ie USB key, iPod and so on, the system locks up. Strange thing is, I use a USB external HDD without any bother what so ever...what the hell is going on?!

Does it happen all the time? Try going into System under Control Panel, Hardware then Device Manager and see if there are any yellow marks beside any of the USB controllers.

No yellow marks and I made sure that they were up to date...

It may be as simple as the cable. Do these effects occur with the ipod if you use a different cable?

The iPod doesn't matter me, (it was a friends) but the fact it does it with a USB memory sick...and not with my exHDD...is somewhat irritating
