Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Updating the 3 datamodem

I just updated the datamodem using the .exe file I found a link to elsewhere on these boards. The whole process (despite the oddball nature of Windows) didn't take too long and worked like a charm. Of course it's now reporting a fictional optimum connection speed of 7,2mbps but at least the potential has been unlocked. It updated a couple of other things too including offering to download 'Mobile Connect' which is a lot less clunky than the godawful interface that 3 Ireland supply. This came preconfigured for Vodafone A1 (which I presume is Austria) but it took two seconds to write a new profile for 3 Ireland.

Returning it to its home in the MacBook, I am pleased to say that it continued to work with no problems and that the firmware has been updated and new connection speed is proudly announced within 'Internet Connect'. Roll on a trip to Austria or Hong Kong, but em, 3 Ireland, it's OK really, please don't bother with any more network 'upgrades'.

I've used Vodafone and 3 modems now using the Vodaofne software without issue. It's nice and handy to add the APN and the mobile connect software is indeed far better than the custom 3 stuff.

Dead right it is but I wasn't aware that it could be used (as i rarely use my PCs). Anyway, I'm just letting people know that the firmware update is not to be feared, it won't brick your datamodem.
