    Ok, I'm new here, but was just wondering, are there different ruler for different forums? I understand about not insulting people or being racist or discriminatory and getting banned if you keep doing it, but are there specific rules for certain forums, like things that are alright in one but can get you into trouble in another? I read the charters for the few forums I posted on and they all seemed pretty similar, but just thought I'd check to be on the safe side.

    Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, but like I said, I'm new here.

    Most forums would have similar rules but some are different. Like in the thunderdome personal abuse is allowed.

    The freedom of speech thing applies sitewide.
    How it is applied is dependant on which forum you are using.

    Just read the charter of whichever forum you choose to post in before your first post and all will be well. :smilie face:

    In all fairness we draw very generous limits around what's acceptable on AH. Your banning had **** all to do with the moral high-ground seeking zealots, who bluntly have little influence over the mods, if you haven't noticed they spend a lot of the time complaining about what we don't remove from the forum.

    You were banned because racist jokes aren't allowed in AH, even seemingly innocent ones. Simply because it's impossible for us to be able to tell whether or not they are innocent or really part of some racist diatribe. This isn't like telling a joke to friends who know you well enough to be able to judge how to take it. There's also the issue that it starts off a little war between the zealots and the free speech parties, that we really don't need in the forum.
