If Browns's going to get sent off because he made 6 fouls (5 of them soft fouls) then he might as well retire. I'm delighted Strachan kept him on the pitch. I'm sure his heart was in his mouth on occasion but Brown would have learnt a lot tonight. What energy the guy has. I love him.

ziggy - the defence was crap. We should all know that by now. Individually most of them played quite well though. Naylor can run away if he doesn't get his confidence back though.

6/8 and he picked out 2 draws as well. Showed his tipping metal by going with his head rather than his heart in tipping a Shaktar victory. Well done that man.

Man I missed this competition :) Between the predictions and fantasy footy, and being able to flick between matches it was really exciting. But with Oddo and Nesta in my FF team, I was tearing my hair out at the end. Bah.

Jesus Christ; worst performance from us in a long time.

I actually felt sorry for Porto. Quaresma would have been a bloody class buy. :-/

Mash was a disaster in the centre. Basic stuff was going wrong all over.

Bah, very disappointed with the performance. Lucky to get a draw

we were a big pile of steaming ****e last night.

    gerrard and masch were muck.

pennant needs to learn to calm down or Rafa should tell him to **** off in Jan. he just goes mental a lot of the time, remember against Villa he had to be taken off to avoid being sent off? shocking attitude.

    Torres and Kuyt did ok.

Looked dodgy at the back a couple of times.

Worst game i've seen Finnan have in a couple of years i think.

Only positives i think were Torres & Kuyt and the fact that we got a point in our toughest group game while still playing ****e.

and we have Man united away on Sunday!!!!!!

these are the dark times for Chelsea....

Well missing Drogba and Lampard are huge losses, but considering neither of United or Chelsea are firing on all cylinders I think you might be over-reacting a little. The season is a long one, and to be honest, I'm not sure who will win it.

I'm torn between a home win or draw in the Arsenal game, I wish it'd been on last night so it wouldn't clash with the United game.

You can't get deflections if you don't shoot, and shoot well with power.

3-0 Arsenal, goals from Cesc 'Lampard' Fabregas, van Persie and Eduardo. Lovely jubbly.

Pretty similar match to last night's, United pretty comfortable but offering little bar the one excellent move that got the goal. VDS was fantastic though, two top drawer saves. Shows that teams from Portugal are pretty damn good at keeping and passing the ball but really can't cope with the strength of defenders in the EPL.

But god did anyone catch Dunphy's idiotic rant after the match, is the man drunk all the time? Bayern are a selling club? Does he know anything about football at all?

watched the Fehnerbahce - Inter game, was a really good game, and imho a fair result... Fehnerbahce really wanted to win a lot more than Inter...

Manchester were totally crap in the first half.

Couldn't string a passing move together, couldn't get out of their own half. Invited Sporting on to them, and only for a top drawer save from VDS could have paid a very high price.

Having said that, Sporting offered absolutely nothing when it came to crosses and passing the the final third, about 95% of their crosses went wide, or out for a throw.

In the second half, Manchester improved a bit, were in the Sporting half much more, but again, passing was well below par. Simple passes across the midfield were misplaced, and gave possession back to Sporting. Ronaldo showed some nice touches and he got a very good goal, but it was Manchester's only fluid passing move of the whole game. How Nani stayed on the pitch for the full 90 is beyond me. He ran down blind alleys all night, gave away the ball at every opportunity, and had an all round brutal display. He needs some time in the reserves I think.

On Sunday they need to play Saha with Rooney and get Giggs back on the left wing. To say he was ineffective this evening would be a nice way to put it. They'll need Hargreaves back in the team too, because neither Carrick or Scholes can do the dirty work in the middle of the park.

A better team would have torn united apart this evening, and really punished them in the midfield.

But, if they can get all their players back and clicking, they'll go far.

As for the other games. Very well done to Rangers, that was a nice result.

Arsenal's third goal was a thing of beauty, the one touch football was breathtaking, but if Fabregas is credited with the first goal, I'll eat my hat.

Who would have predicted the Fenerbahce result

I wouldnt calling them a selling club but they are a shadow of what they used to be.

Buying Klose, Tony, Sosa and Ribery? They've an excellent side this year, heck they got really far in the CL last year too so they're hardly a shadow of what they used to be. He was talking about the death of the Bundesliga, i wonder if he's ever watched it, its a fantasticly entertaining league, the fact that Bayern didn't make the CL last year even though they still could have won it in the last two matches (along with 3 other teams) shows how good a league it is (also has the highest goal rate of the European leagues.

Jeez, i dunno...if they were in the champions league this year they'd by one of my major tips to win it..

Demichelis, van Buyten, Lucio, Lahm, Ribéry, Schweinsteiger, van Bommel, Podolski, Klose, Toni, even lesser guys like Zé Roberto, Lell , Ottl and Altintop.

Klose and Toni have each played 4 games this season (out of 5), Klose has 4 goals, Toni has 3.

Once that team gells a bit with the new players i think they'll be unreal!
