Hey, going to Miami in January. Really want to get a tattoo in the shop. Girlfriend is going to pay for it as my birthday present.

Main problem is finding out where the shop is. Cant see anything on the net for it, anyone care to direct me in the direction of a site that could help or anyone thats been there care to help.

That's because it doesn't exist in the way it's presented- it's a show, you need to audition/apply on the website. The actual shop is called 305 ink or something and it is owned by Chris and Ami apparently, so you might have some luck there... the other artists only tattoo as part of the show.

Edit: Supposedly their phone number is 305 531 4556
    Double Edit: Beaten :(

I wouldn’t bother to be honest mate. Those guy’s don’t even work in the shop, they only turn up for the taping of the show.

It is a real tattoo studio, but with different artists working in it.

There’s not a chance of you getting tattooed by any of the artists off the show, and you’re just going to end up paying a stupid amount of money for an average tattoo by a random artist, all for the sake of saying ‘oh I got tattooed in that Miami ink place’

    Save your money..

There doing a spin off of Miami Ink called London Ink with Louis Molloy (David Beckham's tattoo artist). Funny thing is though unlike LA or Miami Ink you don't have to pay if your on camera.

Yeah, a while back someone posted info about auditions... wonder what it's going to be like. 2 hours of tattoo-related TV every sunday evening, woo hoo!

I like Miami Ink but I normally record it and skip through the various heartfelt stories behind every tattoo. It's created this terrible expectation in people that every tattoo has to have deep meaning so much so that I have a friend who told me their tribal dragon is dedicated to their Granny, which leaves me wondering "Was your Granny into dragons are something?"

Yeah i hate them parts its so annoying, not every tattoo has to mean something

I view tattoos as art. I'm ok if my connection to them is purely aesthetic. That said I'm getting my parents and Grandmothers portraits on my arm and I'm nearly finished a tribute to my sister who was stillborn. I'll always love these tattoos but my Japanese legsleeve still gets its share of love too lol.

Word. I view tattoos as art too, and art is meaningful to me... that's all the 'meaning' I'll need.

Tribal dragon dedicated to Granny is pretty funny though.

Yep and now the tribal bands which last year had no meaning are dedicated to various dead relatives. Also aquarius in kanji. I've read stories about tattoo artists just using random words instead of what the person wants cuz they'll never know.

Went to Miami in the summer, really cool place! The Miami ink shop in the center of South Beach pretty much the only place worth/safe to go session in Miami. Downtown ain't too bad

South Beach is a party place on speed. The place consists of Niteclubs, Bars, Stripclub, Tattoo parlours and 24/7 tattoo parlours?

Seen Darren from the show seems to be there all the time. Ami and Nunez never! Didn't get pics of himself but heres some pics

Too many bloody tribute tatts for my liking on that show, its either an older lady/gentleman getting their pet cat on their tit, an ex junkie/anorexic getting Jesus on their anatomy or another generic oriental tatt.
The best stuff on the show were the time when they went to Hawaii and saw the traditional way to tattoo, or when they get a total lunatic in, like the skinny guy in a thong!

Also they always get some hottie in to get a large piece at least partially on her ass, odd that, especially given that Kat has all the sex appeal I need!

I watched it for the first time this weekend. My bf kept going on about kat. And, like, she's hot and all, but she's got an arrogance to her that annoys me a little. An awesome artist, grant you that. I adore her face tat. THAT is what I want. Beautifully done.

yeah i was watching the last week and the people from american chopper rang up about getting a tattoo from her and the girl wanted an arm band, she just told the woman it was beneath her, that she was too good to do that and that she hadnt done that since she was 15

Ya know, once I have a job that doesn't prevent me from getting these things done, I will. I wish society was more ******* open-minded about mods. Really pisses me off.

I hate to say this, but if society was more "open minded about mods" then a lot of the people that are involved in the whole 'scene', wouldn't be involved in it and would be looking for something else to shock people and get attention about. It's just the way it is. People bitch and moan about how they're not accepted by society and all this ****, but most of them think they're part of some elitist group anyways and think every single person in the world is against them and doesn't understand them. I'm not saying that some people out there aren't total assholes about piercings and tattoos and anything that's slightly out of the mainstream, cos I've met my fair share of idiots aswell, but there's also some genuinely nice people out there who haven't a clue and will be genuinely interested and curious and not rude about it and actually try and learn something from you. No matter what you do there's gonna be people that like it and people that don't, you learn your own way of dealing with both, when it's modification it's a bit more noticeable then certain other things so your gonna get more attention. you deal with it, with work you deal with that too.

Totally agree with that porn_star, well said.

i agree with porn_star, but at the same time, like fantasy said...
a job that doesn't prevent me from getting these things done,

that is one thing thtat seriously seriously pisses me off. i dont have many obvious mods, about 10 in my ears, one in my lip, but as i tend to wear my hair down, most people dont realise ive my ears done as much as they are, but still, ive gone to new clients and my boss has asked me to take the lip ring out, as this one is known to be moany/fussy/whatever. i dont know why i cant just leave it in, let them complain about it and then shut the **** up when they realise that despite liking piercings, i am actually quite capable of carrying out my job!

to be honest, most clients who have asked me about my piercings or tattoos have been quite fascinated. they view it almost as a learning experience, cos that stuff was really just not done back in their day.

Now, ya see. My point is that there shouldn't be anything that says 'Oh. Tattoos. You can't work here.' Ya know. That annoys me. People who pass comments, don't bother me. Just wanna get that out there. The ignorant people who comment on my ink or call me an idiot or whatever, don't really deserve much of my time. I don't care what people think. If I didn't depend on money to live I'd get a badly paid job just to be able to carry on modding myself as I please.

I'm not involved in this as part of a scene. I hate that word. I'm not a little bankie kid. I don't do it for shock. I do it cos this is what I love.

I'm not moaning about work, I'm just saying it' be really nice to be able to do what I do and also be able to indulge in my passion at the same time.
