    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on a new venture I'm thinking about going on....

Have been really interested in Digital Video editing and would love to get into it on a partime basis - with the view to moving full time if all goes well....I'm currently in the travel industry at the minute but kinda getting sick of that so, this would be my next move.

Was thinking about getting some cards together to get people to send me their Dvids etc - I could get them editied down to a nice little DVD - I have if I may say so myself done some good work using IMovie and am doing an Apple certified course on Final Cut pro at the minute - does anyone think there is a niche for this kind of thing in Ireland??

well, to be honest, no not at all. theres dozens of students and people that do it for a hobby. only thing is most dont really know how to promote themselves so you might find a gap there. 'low budget basic editing' or the likes.
just try get work from family and friends and see what happens.

Have to agree. Many people (myself included) are becoming adept with home video editing software. Coupled with the advance in storage and machine speeds it makes things far easier than it used to be.

But you might still find a niche. Be careful though.
