Alternative things to do in Galway

I've been in Galway 5 years now. I've done all the usual things people do in Galway, go to pubs/clubs, university clubs and societies, cinema, bowling etc... Now I'm kinda bored by all of them. My friends and I have run out of new things to do. Considering the weather we get in Galway can anybody recommend some activities to do in the evenings or nights in Galway? Oh and transport is also a problem. I can get lifts with my friends but its awkward.

    Seeing as I was mentioned!
Point Blank Gym is running beginners classes through the next three months, a couple places still available if you or your mates are interested. We moved from the college a year ago when I opened a full time gym in Parkmore, website is in my sig.

Or if you prefer more of a voyeuristic approach I am running an Ultimate Fighting event on the 6th of October in the Black Box. Many people have seen Ultimate Fighting on Bravo and Setanta Sports at this stage, but the reral thing can be even more exciting! More details also in my sig.

It's always the same list of answers: various sports, poker, snooker, or salsa dance classes.

    *sigh*

Anyone got any other ideas, or is that about it in this country?

There tends to be two reasons for the "boredom", either you've been there done that, or you are looking to meet new people. Assuming you aren't interested in meeting new people here's some things you could do. I'd appreciate other peoples input too... I'm also sick of seeing the same old "join a football club" responses.

    Go to a play
Do clay pigeon shooting or Archery (glenlo abbey has both)
Get your mates together for some LAN gaming in one of the game cafés
    Visit an art exhibition
Go out for dinner & wine
Go to leisureland for some mini golf
Host a murder mystery night (you can buy packs in toy shops)
Get radio controlled cars and race them
Go fishing in one of the canals or the river, or the sea
    Go to the greyhound racing
Go for a trip on the corrib princess
Everybody needs a break, climb a mountain, jump in a lake

Ok, what would you like to do? Give us some ideas on what you think is fun.
Cut down on the whining, it's not sexy.

It was for one fleeting hour that was the irish summer. Now that the eternal winter has returned, its nice should you be clinically depressed.

Get 10 of your friends together for astro turf football.
In a few months the tag rugby starts up again. It's great craic and the few drinks afterwards adds to it!!
