Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nottingham Forest were given a 'free goal' as they started their replayed Carling Cup tie with Leicester.

The second-round tie between the two sides was abandoned at half-time in August after City defender Clive Clarke suffered heart failure.

Forest were leading 1-0 at the time and the Foxes sportingly allowed their east midlands rivals to regain that lead in the opening minute of the game.

Forest goalkeeper Paul Smith benefited by scoring his first career goal.

Clarke, 27, was admitted to hospital after collapsing in the dressing room during the original cup tie on 28 August.

Clarke's agent, Gary Mellor, said the player was treated with a defibrillator in the dressing-room.

Clarke, on loan at Leicester from Sunderland, had regained consciousness by the time he was taken to the nearby Queens Medical Centre in an ambulance.

    leicester won 3-2

Remarkable gesture from Leicester City, especially in modern day football.

    Fairplay to all concerned.

Leicester City for the Carling Cup:p

they chose Smith to score because they figured very few people, if any, would hav put money on him as first goal scorer.
