Hi , I following this part-time course at DIT:
    http://www.dit.ie/DIT/study/parttime2007/programmes/dt037.html
and next year I should achieve the "Computing - Bachelor of Technology" ,a degree without honours.
I have many certification as Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Techonlogy specialist: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications,Microsoft Techonlogy specialist: SQL Server 2005, and I'm in the path co achieve the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer .Actually I'm working as pc-support analyst since 2 years.
My question is ,since I will achieve only a Bachelor without honours, when for PhD is usually required a Honours Degree, does anyone know if there's any chance that I can apply for PhD considering that I have little work experience, and some good certification?

spupazza, I wouldn't claim to be an expert but normally an honours degree would be the minimum requirement for entry to a PhD, and even then you'd have to have got a 1st class honours or maybe a 2.1

To go straight from an ordinary degree to a PhD, I'd imagine that's a no-no but only way to find out for sure is to contact the relevant head of department. I can't see it happening though.

Why not do the honours degree and then consider a PhD? By the way, unless you want to work in research or academia you don't need a PhD anyway. A good honours degree/masters would be enough.

    I second that.

However, one route taken be a few is to do an ordinary degree, some postgrad diploma and then onto the PhD. And that is only if you know the person who will supervise your PhD. It is all about who you know rather than what you know.

As far as I know you're not normally considered 'postgrad' until you've completed an honours level 8 degree, at least for the purposes of postgraduate study anyway be it PgD, masters or whatever.
