    Hi all,
i know a number of posters here have done the day up in Monaghan with RallySchoolIreland, im just wondering how ye got on.
Myself and my bil did the clubman course in Mondello a couple of moths ago and really enjoyed it. I actually felt more at home in the single seater than in the Rover, but twas great fun altogether.
Now the two of us and another mate fancy doing the rallying for a day. Theres a number of courses, and bearing in mind two things - (a) were not loaded, so we wont be going for the executive full package, so im thinking one of the mid range courses, and (b) - is it more fun in the less powerful cars?
Dont get me wrong, i'd love a tilt in the Scooby, but is it just too powerful to the point that you're backing off and not really giving the car socks, whereas if you go for the Mk2 Escort & MINI Coopers/BMW 3series you can exploit a lot more of the cars potential.

Comments from people who've done the day up there most welcome.

And btw, yes we're considering the Palmer Sport experience in the UK as our next adventure after this :D

    Cheers

Hi, i havent done it but really want to, i know a few people who have and have talked to a good few people about it. The place in wexford rally connection might be better value for money, especially if you dont really want to use the scooby. A lot of people have said the escorts are a lot more fun. The 3 series bmw might be a good laugh too.

I've done it and had a great time - did the day with the Mark II Escort twice and the Scooby once option!
Mark II is a great laught - the tail is so hard to keep control of - did a doughnut on the first corner after the guy told me to take it handy!!! :D
The Scooby HAS to be tried - the difference in power delivery and grip is unbelieveable

The only thing is was a lil bit disappointed with was that there isnt much of a straight to get up some speed - ya just about get into 3rd before having to brake hard.

All in all a great day out - good learning experience - feel as thought my car control is alot better and i know id feel alot more comfortable in a skid or slide....now that i have a RWD car :D .....well worth the hard earned
