I've heard Barry Whelan does good work on 911s. Thing is, the number I have for him (01-4537224) is permanently engaged. Does anyone have another number for him? Or can anyone recommend someone else? Thanks!

Thinking of changing to a Porsche myself, so would be interested in hearing costs etc.

Robert Furley in Kells is a Porsche and BMW specialist. Hes often had a number of 911s out there, whenever I was getting work on my M3. I don't have his number to hand though - I'm sure someone on here does though.

Thanks for that, ondafly. I've spoken to Robert Furley, and was pretty impressed with what I heard. I was really hoping for the convenience of someone closer to home, though.

There's Tom Fahy in Oranmore, Galway; he's supposed to do a lot of Porsche work, as well as high end BMW.

Ondafly; getting rid of the M?

That's farther from home, not closer!;)

There are people who travel across the country for Fahys to work on their cars.

Where are you located - I recently had my 911 serviced by a German chap in Wexford, seemed to do a good job very good price- 200 euro , oilchange , oil filter, spark plugs etc.

@Anan1 - did your brother treat himself to a 911 after letting go the A8? :)

I too can recommend Robert Furley.

Robert handled the service of my 964 this summer. Very pleased with his enthusiasm for the marque.

I decided it was time to go independent as, IMHO the Dublin dealership aren't really geared up for older cars (having been a client of theirs).

If Co. Meath isn't local to you. I suggest you make contact with the Irish Porsche Club. They will be only to happy to recommend independent servicing.

I recommend Robert Furley highly also.

Thanks to everyone for your input so far. I'm in Monkstown, south Dublin. Robert Furley seems to come highly recommended, but Kells is a long way away to be dropping a car down and then going back to collect it. Does anyone have any thoughts on Barry Whelan? Is he even still in business? That phone number is in both the part one and the golden pages, but it seems to be permanently engaged.
