usb modem would it make a difference

    A cousin is getting a modem and wants a long cable he already has two 3m usb extension cables.
    Is there any point getting a long cable when he could just join the two together or would there be a loss of quality from joining the two.

    Get a modem with ethernet sockets , long cables won't be a problem and the cable will be cheaper

    Not sure if the cable that comes with the 02 modem is the same as the 3 version, but the 3 one has 2 usb connections for boosting power. It should not be a problem doing it, as long as he does not join more than 2 cables.

    Think the max cable lenghts are 3m for USB.1, and 5m for USB.2.

    You can also buy Usb booster cables from One-Source (previously known as All-Cables)

    the cables with both 3 and 02 are the exact same
